Reciprocal referral systems have been working for many years. There are
a few
different ways to set them up. One method that has become popular these days and
works pretty well, is when a group of professionals get together on a regular
basis and take advantage of group advertising. This also allows them to refer
patients or customers within their own group.
An example is when ten professionals who
practice in the same area, from an accountant, attorney, and
physician, to a chiropractor, optometrist, and dentist all get together and advertise their location together. These are the
advantages:
1- It can cut your advertising cost to one tenth of what you
would have to pay
alone.
2- You can get much better ads and can afford more effective marketing.
3- You will have a group brochure that has everybody’s information in it and is
placed in every office's waiting area.
4- You will receive patients through personal referrals from other professionals.
Research your area and see how you can organize
such a group. Invite everyone to a breakfast meeting and present your
suggestions to them. By collaborating with other professionals, you can put a
great team together and enjoy the results for years to come. Do not underestimate
the power of networking.
