Dental Equipment
As with all your other
expense, you should use a commonsense method when buying dental equipment.
When it comes to any purchase, I have always disagreed with the idea of
saving by buying low quality. What also concerns me is the tendency dentists
have to impulse shop solely based on what they see in advertisements. Here
are a few pointers:
-
Bargain! You may not
be used to this but it is progressively becoming a common element in
business transactions.
Besides, what do you have to lose by asking for a discount? Do not think
of it as a dollar amount you are saving on an item, but as a percentage
of the whole overhead you are saving. For example, if you are buying a
piece of equipment that costs $1,000, you may think it is not worth
bargaining for a 10% discount, or $100. But if you equate this with
saving 10% on all your purchases and eventually overhead, you can see
that you are saving around $30,000 a year for a $500,000 a year
practice!
-
The golden rule is to
save a dollar at a time; it will add up.
-
Never allow the hype
of the market to entice you.
Dental equipment can
cost a lot of money; saving on it can make a significant difference. |
